Why focus on youth?

​

We want to encourage our youth to engage in leadership to contribute to positive change and development. The youth are the light and they need to be connected with, encouraged, and given opportunities to exercise leadership. Our youth are energetic to lead and bring new diverse perspectives to the table. By doing this, they not only help our community and re-energize adults, but also help themselves to develop their identities, to represent their own interests, to gain skills, to gain knowledge, to strengthen their networks, to counteract negative stereotypes of young people in our community, and to realize the power of their influence.
